Our family started homesteading in 2020 and we have never looked back. I don’t know if we really knew what we were getting into when we started but it’s been an amazing journey. It hasn’t always been easy and fun but it’s always been worth it. We are getting back to the basics and empowering others to do the same.
As a family, we focused mostly on chickens. We now have bees, goats and pigs. As a family who farms we see and know the benefits of providing our animals with both a clean and healthy environment and what that does for their quality of life but also what it does for ours. We are intentional about providing our pigs with new forage areas, chickens who roam freely on the property, therapeutic goats for yoga and everyone having access clean fresh water daily. By mimicking more of a natural system, our animals are impacted less and live a healthier lifestyle, this healthy lifestyle is passed on not only to the consumer through quality products but also to the environment improving soil health and the ecosystem. This is great for the environment and directly affects the quality of meat.
